Health, nutrition programs intensified

The Health and Nutrition Unit of DepEd Malabon, in partnership with different public and private sectors, has embarked on various programs that aim to improve the health and nutrition of school children for the first half of 2016.

To reduce the number of dengue cases, all schools participated in the fogging operations initiated by the City Government of Malabon, thru the Dengue Prevention and Control Program of the City Health Department from May 11 to June 3.

Different training programs were also conducted to orient and educate the school personnel about health and nutrition services. Elementary school principals and feeding coordinators attended the “Orientation on the School-Based Feeding Program for S.Y. 2015-2016” at the SDO Conference Hall on April 5.

Through the support of Save the Children Philippines, the school clinic teachers joined the seminar entitled “Training of Trainers (TOT) on School Health and Nutrition Services” held at St. Agatha Resort and Country Club, Malolos City, Bulacan from May 18 to 20. –rgc
